Barong Dance Tour

Enjoy the performance of Barong and Keris Dance at Batubulan Village, the performance starts at 9.30 am and finishes at 10.30 am. The Barong play represents an eternal fight between good and evil spirits. A Barong (a mythological animal) represents a good spirit and Rangda (a mythological monster) represents an evil one. Balinese people also believed that the Barong is a symbol of protection. Many kinds of faces of Barong, mostly is Barong cat, Barong Landung, Barong Macan (tiger face) Barong ceiling (pig face).

The next stop is visiting a traditional Balinese house. It is very unique house building and it was built in hundred years ago. Visitors who visit this house will allow entering the family compound inside, the people can see the kitchen and also family temple, and you can see also how the people live.

Rice terraces at Tegallalang Village, this rice terraces has beautiful views of coconut trees and a beautiful small river valley. Tegallalang Village is well known as the village of handicrafts center, especially for wholesale and export, along the road you will see a lot of shops; they sell a variety of painted woodcarving with colorful designs. The painted woodcarving products they sell are made from very light wood at a reasonable price, they do sell their handicrafts for retail too.

Mount Batur, this places located in Kintamani District – Bangli Regency. Penelokan Village will be the best to view the Batur Mount and Batur Lake. Batur Mount had eruptions several times already, the biggest eruption was in 1926 destroyed the Batur Village, this village was near the lake and now move to the top. The black lava was the eruption in 1974. This is still active Volcano smoking all the time. There are many restaurants built surrounding the crater, especially for lunchtime.

After visiting Mt. Batur we will go to Kehen Temple, located about 10 minutes drive from traditional Pengelipuran Village or 10 minute’s drive to the north of Bangli town. The temple was built on the hillside of Bangli Hill, this temple is the state temple of the Bangli Kingdom. The first courtyard has a big Banyan tree with a wood bell Kulkul and in the top yard built 11 steps Meru, this is dedicated to the supreme Gods (Ida Sanghyang Widhi Wasa), the base of the Meru is Turtle and 2 dragons (Anantaboga and Besukian dragon). The temple believed as the second biggest temple in Bali.
